Opera GX: The Gamer’s Browser

In a random series of events, I installed Opera while installing another program. I came across an interesting find. Opera has released a new browser, still in beta. Opera GX. They call it the Gamer’s Browser.

Did Someone Say Free VPN?

Opera has a couple features that I like, such as offering the free VPN that is quick and easy to turn on and off. It’s simplicity allows for quick browsing with low CPU usage. They took this a step further!

I have been using Microsoft Edge, for an easy sync with my Samsung Note 10 Plus, and several computers. My constant battle has been the frustration with bogging down my computer. To my dismay, I tend to have a ridiculous number of open tabs. It is an ongoing issue. The problem is that I am an extreme multi-tasker. So extreme that I don’t dare operate without at least a couple computers in my office at a time.

The more memory I have, the more I use. So, my best option is to look for options that give me the same results with less resources used.

The Gamer’s Browser Will Allocate Your Resources!

Opera GX caught my eye with the Gamer’s Browser headline. The VPN warns that browsing may slow down. This is from information traveling farther to pass through the private networks. But, I have not noticed major differences and it isn’t slowing my computer. One major reason is that Opera GX is for gamers. Due to gamers needing their computer’s resources to get the best gaming experience. Opera GX gives you accessibility to limit your Network bandwidth, RAM usage, and CPU usage.

The features are easy to access without completely leaving your current browsing. It is very simple to use and pleasing to the

eye. Which brings up a good time to mention the customization of the browser appearance. It is for us gamers and gives a “gamers” futuristic look and color selections. Opera GX comes out of the box with a set tab “GX Corner”. This tab brings games, game releases, and game news right when you open the browser.

But Wait! There’s More!

Features include a sidebar to customize and incorporate Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp. Opera’s “My Flow” gives you the ability to share your browsing between your devices. This is like Microsoft Edge’s sharing feature. Twitch is also incorporated, which seems like a must in the gaming world.

After a couple weeks of putting this browser to the test, I have been happy with it. Chrome extensions that I want are compatible. Above all, everything seems to run smooth. My one issue is that Opera claims to incorporate Casting without extension. I am unable to find that option anywhere, and I couldn’t locate any usable extension. I use Cast to my Chromecast and my TVs, so I pull up Google Chrome to do so. Give your desktop a cool look without slowing your system. In short, Check out Opera GX, today.
